Project Overview

The Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia (YACWA) and WACHPR have collaborated on a project to mobilise the support and capacity of the Western Australian youth sector to promote sexual health within their programs targeting young people most at risk of sexually transmissible infections and blood borne viruses.

This participatory action research project, based at YACWA, is developing and promoting good practice approaches to peer-based youth sexual health promotion for the youth sector as well as aims to recruit and work collaboratively with a range of community youth organisations to trial and evaluate different models of peer education. The project is drawing on best practice models including the findings and outcomes of the WACHPR My-Peer project.
